What should i do to get to an institute?
i am in the 8th grade and i want to be a nurse but i am in (ELD )english language Development and i am trying to get in to Weber Institute to get at least a little experience in the health program and i have a problem in getting early in my first period class and i am having problems in math what should i do to shape up

andre1 answers:
Well, unfortunately, you are too young to start any program or get any job experience, but it is good that you are thinking ahead. Don't worry too much, nobody is going to have any issues with the fact that you did not do well in 8th grade Math. Make sure you do well in the 9th grade and beyond.
If I can make one recommendation, talk to your school counselor, math teacher, or principal to see if you can be paired up with a Math tutor either in your class or somewhere at your school. That might help you out.

David asks…
I really need help with my essay on class inequalities in contemporary Britain...?
The essay task is - Using the theories of Marx and Weber, critically examine whether class inequalities in contemporary Britain have been reduced?
I just really need a brief outline plan or something to get me started, i'm really stumped. This is my first essay for this year so i don't really want to mess it up..
Thanks for any help

andre1 answers:
You should probably open with what defines 'class' in Britain and the basics of Marx and Weber's opinions on class.
You should include religion, education and family.
Marxist views focus on the lower 'working class' which they call the proletariat being oppressed by the upper class or bourgeoisie who were the ruling class.
In religion he argues that the ruling class preach a false class consciousness through religion which compensates for workers suffering in everyday life. As these workers are socialized through education, religion and family not to question, they do not, So their belief that if they work well and suffer in life the will be rewarded in death, continues generation to generation.
You should include that Marx believes this needs to be abolished before classes can become equal.
You should use examples of contemporary studies and relate to Weber's work on the protestant ethic. It would also be good to use criticisms of Marx ideas. (:
Hope some of that will be of use.

Betty asks…
What is the magnetic flux of Earth's magnetic field in webers?
first person with a good answer gets 10 points.

andre1 answers:
The magnetic quantity B which is being called "magnetic field" is sometimes called "magnetic flux density". An older unit name for the Tesla is Webers per meter squared, with the Weber being the unit of magnetic flux.
Since the earth's field varies but is about 0.3- 0.6 gauss
1 T = 10,000 G
and
1 T = 1 W/m^2
So
1 W/m^2 = 10,000 G
The units are going to be different. You would have to get it in Webers/m^2 NOT simply Webers
Mag field Strength = 0.3 x 10^-4 W/m2 to 0.6 x 10^-4 W/m2
Magnetic flux is B dot A
Hope this helps and I can get 5 stars

Thomas asks…
if u've studied human institutions (sociology) do u know any of these answers??
4.In looking at institutions through the lens of World Systems, we discussed terms like core, semi-periphery, periphery, hegemons, and cycles of hegemonic rivalry. Can you define what they are and how they relate to one another? How do they relate to the institutions we’ve studied? Who were some of the hegemonic countries we discussed?
5.What is the QWERTY effect (path dependence)? What is the history of European sugar production and what does it tell us about path dependence, institutions, and stratification?
7.What does Bellah mean by a “civil religion”?
The first involved Weber’s “Switchman” metaphor; the other was the Secularization Thesis. Be able to discuss:
A.The role of materialism and idealism in both
B.Weber’s Switchman metaphor- the historical process he described; including the meaning (definition) and relationship of predestination, asceticism, and the “Switchman” to capitalism; which institutions are involved; and how this example illustrates institutional iinte

andre1 answers:
